Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. It was dark and a cold sleet had set in; my last day of shooting fall color this season. I couldn't leave, so this photo was taken at the edge of night. The forest was getting darker and darker, but the golden aspen leaves lit up this shot.
