UPPER BLUE LAKES FALLS
A dramatic waterfall just below Blue Lakes in Monte Cristo Gulch. Sitting beneath Quandary Peak, at a lofty altitude of 11,748 feet, these falls were the highlight of this old mining area with deposits of molybdenum, copper, and tungsten. Lichen and weathered rock made an earthly contrast to the luminous white of cascading water down these granite slopes.
