Artist's Description

TREE BONES
Near Fairplay, Colorado

This was one of those moments, as we're driving down yet another long, bumpy back road and I'm hollering at my husband to stop the truck! My dear husband knows the routine so he stops, skidding to a halt and backs up slowly so that I can take another look and this was what I found.

These remnants of trees branches and stumps, long ago having fallen and swept to this spot by mountain runoff, starkly stood out from the fall grasses and green bottomed creek bed. The contrast of the bleached trees in the creek was really something to see. It's been a couple of years, I wonder if they're still there.
